SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bert W. Farm of McHenry, who passed away on October 29, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Bert Farm was born on January 3, 1922 in Chicago to John A. and Anna (nee Manthei) Farm; he married Betty Hinrichs in Chicago on September 4, 1948; he served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the Medical Corps; and

WHEREAS, Bert Farm worked for Crane Manufacturing Company in Chicago following the war; he and his wife moved to McHenry in 1948 and he worked for Morton Chemical in Ringwood and Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Bert Farm was a longtime member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry, where he served on the Church Council for 6 years and could regularly be seen helping in and around the church wherever he could; he enjoyed traveling, family vacations, and puttering around his home; and

WHEREAS, Bert Farm was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his brother, Charles Farm; his sister, Janet Farm Fuchs; his niece, Charlene Jensen; and his nephew, Allan Farm; and

WHEREAS, Bert Farm is survived by his children, Lynn Farm and Susan (Glen) Heumann, and his grandchildren, Eric (Claire) Heumann and Ryan Heumann; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bert W. Farm, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bert Farm as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
