SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin Whitney of Waukegan, who passed away on January 19, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was born on June 19, 1935, in Waukegan to Frank Sr. and Agnes Whitney; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney served in the U.S. Army and retired from Johnson Motors in 1997 after 42 years of employment; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a Chicago White Sox fan; he loved putting up Purple Marten houses; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Frank Whitney Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia; his sons, Mark, Jeffery (Elizabeth), and Donald; his granddaughter, Vanessa; and his brother, Robert Whitney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marvin Whitney, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin Whitney as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
