SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Samuel J. Stanczak of Gurnee, who passed
4away on January 14, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Samuel Stanczak was born on October 7, 1921, in
6Waukegan; he married Catherine Kennedy on July 19, 1947, in
7Waukegan; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Samuel Stanczak retired from Johnson Motors after
930 years; he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps,
10repairing planes during WWII; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Samuel Stanczak played the accordion in a band
12called "The Drifters"; he was a charter member of St. Paul the
13Apostle Church in Gurnee where he was a eucharistic minister,
14usher, and Minister of Care; he helped organize the K.C.
15Wheelers at the VA hospital and was in charge of helping
16patients attend mass at Libertyville Manor; he was a Grand
17Knight of K. of C. Waukegan Council #731 and past Faithful
18Navigator, 4th degree #0197, member of VFW Post #1293, Gurnee
19American Legion Post #991, Polish American Legion #5, and
20Waukegan Moose Lodge #706; he would volunteer to deliver
21Christmas baskets to the poor; and

1    WHEREAS, Samuel Stanczak was preceded in death by his wife;
2his brothers, Edward and Lawrence Stanczak; and his sisters,
3Marcella Schmidt, Gerri Turkowski, and Pat Habjan; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Samuel Stanczak is survived by his daughter, Terri
5Hemmings; his son, Michael (Janet) Stanczak; his
6grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Stanczak; and his brothers,
7Leo (Winnie) Stanczak, John Stanczak, and Jim (Mary Kay)
8Stanczak; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Samuel Stanczak, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Samuel Stanczak as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
