SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Matthew John Porter of Woodstock, who passed away on October 10, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was born on December 15, 1973 in Champaign-Urbana; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was employed in the material services department at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock; he was also attending Judson College, where he was one course away from his Bachelor's Degree in counseling; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was a member of the Woodstock Assembly of God Church, where he served as a youth pastor for several years; he also participated in several prison ministry programs and was an active speaker with several Alcoholics Anonymous groups; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Porter enjoyed reading and spending time with his children; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Porter is survived by his daughters, Kylie Elizabeth Tennessen-Porter, Madison Rose Porter, and Ava Jean Porter; his mother, Nancy J. (Bill) Wilson; his father, John (Sharon L.) Porter; his sister, Kimberly (Eric) Porter-Hendrickson; his fiancee, Shannon Moerschbaecher; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Matthew John Porter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Matthew Porter as an expression of our sympathy.
