SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Janice Arleen Cates, who passed away on September 12, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Janice Cates was born on March 2, 1938 in Jerseyville; her parents were Donald and Dorothy Stewart Shenberger; and

WHEREAS, Janice Cates was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Springfield; she enjoyed reading, bird watching, and spending time with her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Janice Cates was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy W. Cates, and her 2 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Janice Cates is survived by her son, Jon Cates; her daughters, Janna (George D.) Kamees and Lee Ann (Scott) Davis; her grandchildren, Andrew and Jesse Kamees and Caroline and Thomas Davis; her brothers, William (Donna) Shenberger and Patrick Shenberger; her sisters, Donna Phillip, Dorothy (Chris) Wendle, Penny (John) Tedrick, and Suzanne (Craig) Holmes; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Janice Arleen Cates; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Janice Cates as an expression of our sympathy.
