SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James R. "Jim" Allee of Mattoon, who
4passed away on October 14, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Allee was born on March 20, 1937 in Benton
6to James B. and Helen L. (nee Williams) Allee; he graduated
7from Western Military Academy in Alton and attended Centre
8College in Danville, Kentucky; he married Patty L. Winfield on
9May 8, 1960 in Mattoon; he served in the United States Army
10Reserve; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Allee took over Allee Lumber Company in
12Mattoon in 1967 as the 3rd generation owner; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James Allee was a 20-year member of the Mattoon
14Police and Fire Board, a member of the Lake Land College
15Foundation Board of Directors, serving as the first
16Vice-President and then as President, and a member and former
17board member of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce; he was a
18recipient of the Lake Land College Distinguished Service Award,
19a member of the Eastern Illinois University Panther Club, and a
20sponsor of Little League football and baseball in Mattoon and
21Young Men's Christian Association soccer in Springfield; and

1    WHEREAS, James Allee was preceded in death by his parents
2and his brother, Tim Allee; and
 
3    WHEREAS, James Allee is survived by his wife, Patty; his
4children, Jeff (Kelly) Allee, Angie (Tony) Collings, Aimee
5(Keith) Chambers, and Tim (Rhonda) Allee; his brother, John
6Allee; his grandchildren, Andrew Collings, Laura Collings,
7Joey Allee, Addi Allee, Alaina Allee, and Sydney Allee; and his
8step-grandson, Lucas Grzelak; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11James R. "Jim" Allee, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of James Allee as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
