SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth J. Steinlein of McHenry, who passed away on September 27, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Steinlein was born on October 26, 1929 in Chicago; his parents were Jacob Joseph Steinlein and Rose Helen Hewelt; he married Marian L. Alford on August 2, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Steinlein was a proud graduate of Lane Technical College Preparatory High School in Chicago; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later served in the United States Army Reserve; and

WHEREAS, After retiring from a career in insurance in 1985, Kenneth Steinlein volunteered for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in McHenry County; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Steinlein enjoyed flying, reading, traveling, woodworking, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Steinlein was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Vincent; and his sisters, Dolores and Marge; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Steinlein is survived by his wife; his children, Gary Steinlein, Keith Steinlein, David Steinlein, Wayne (Ayne) Steinlein, Craig Steinlein, Kathryn Loitz, Nancy (Joe) Nelson, Kathleen Alford, Karen Alford, and Murray (Brenda) Alford; his grandchildren, Christofer, Jennifer, Carrie, Candice, Jason, Samantha, Stephanie, Jordan, and Isaac; and his great-grandchildren, Charlee, Grace, Elena, Castle, Jamie, and Jackson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth J. Steinlein; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Steinlein as an expression of our sympathy.
