SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Christine "Nelly" Freund of McHenry, who
4passed away on September 28, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Christine Freund was born on August 1, 1921 in
6Ashippun, Wisconsin to Charles Edward and Mary (nee Mauer)
7Allen; she married Orville B. Freund on May 13, 1944 at Saint
8Peter Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Christine Freund was a homemaker and always
10provided a lovely home for her family; she was a loyal friend
11and enjoyed monthly lunches with members of the card club of
12which she and her husband were a part; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Christine Freund was a member of Saint Mary Church
14in McHenry; she belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters and
15the Christian Mothers; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Christine Freund was preceded in death by her
17husband of 63 years, Orville; her sisters, Evelyn Allen and
18Mary Ann (John) Bohat; her brothers, Ethan, Clifford, Elanson
19(Josephine), Robert (Vera), Charles (Carol) Allen, and Bill
20(Mary) Mauer; and her son-in-law, John Steven Turner; and

1    WHEREAS, Christine Fruend is survived by her daughters,
2Darlene Freund, Terri (Tom) Widhalm, and Donna (the late John)
3Turner; her grandchildren, Dave (Cindy) Widhalm, Mark (Lynn)
4Widhalm, Mary (Justin) Smith, Tony, Matt, and Beth Widhalm,
5John (Jennifer) Turner, and Christopher Turner; her "adopted"
6grandchild, Prital Brahmbhatt; her 17 great-grandchildren,
7Jessica and Jenna Turner, Ava Widhalm, Melissa (fiance Jon
8Geinopolos) Widhalm, Kurt, Amy, Mia, Kira, Max, and Raina
9Widhalm, Julia and Peter Widhalm, Anastacia, Andrew, Elaina,
10Lucia, and Joseph Smith; her sisters-in-law, Bernice Freund and
11Carol Allen; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Christine "Nelly" Freund, and extend our sincere condolences to
15her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Christine Freund as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
