SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harrison "Gene" Willis of Vernon Hills,
4who passed away on September 28, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harrison Willis was born in Ellington, Missouri to
6George and Grace Willis; he was a World War II veteran and
7participated in the "Battle of the Bulge" with the 87th
8Infantry, Golden Acorn Division; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Harrison Willis retired from the Great Lakes Naval
10Training Center as a Chief Crane Operator; he was also a
11retired Senior Chief Petty Officer in the Naval Reserves; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Harrison Willis enjoyed restoring and painting
13automobiles and was the former Secretary/Treasurer of the Lake
14County Corvette Club; he also had a passion for painting and
15signing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Harrison Willis was preceded in death by his first
17wife, Georgia (nee Shelby) Willis; his second wife, Katherine
18(nee Corzine) Willis; his parents; and his siblings, Lois,
19Hazel, Volley, Lewis, and Shirley; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Harrison Willis is survived by his children, Joyce

1(Michael) Wade, Rita (James) Bero, and Steven (Billie Jean)
2Willis; his grandchildren, Brent (Cynthia) Wade, Eddie (Mindy)
3Plante, Carson (Brian) Gasner, Dawn Wilkenson, Crystal Willis,
4Melissa (Joe) Wilkenson-Morzuch, and Shelby (Aaron) Gustman;
5his 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Harrison "Gene" Willis and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution will be
13presented to the family of Harrison Willis as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
