SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas R. Fitzsimons; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Thomas Fitzsimons was a graduate of Mount Carmel
5High School; he earned his Bachelor's of Science in Chemical
6Engineering from the University of Illinois in
7Champaign-Urbana and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University
8Law School in Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Fitzsimons worked as a partner at Greer,
10Burns, and Crain and had been with the firm since 2001; his
11area of expertise was intellectual property law, including
12patent and trademark prosecution; in recent years, he was
13active in anti-counterfit enforcement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Thomas Fitzsimons was active in numerous local and
15national intellectual property associations and lectured in
16the United States and Asia on various topics; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Fitzsimons will be greatly missed by
18everyone who knew him and his wonderful sense of humor; he
19enjoyed spending time with his family and was devoted to his
20children and leaves them with incredible memories and stories
21to share; he was an unbelievable friend to many; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Fitzsimons was the loving husband and best
2friend of Maureen (nee Cahill); the devoted and loving father
3of Thomas Robert and Fiona Patricia; the beloved son and
4sunshine of their lives of Tom and Patricia (nee Kilgallon);
5the favorite son-in-law of Jim and Patricia Cahill; the dear
6friend and brother-in-law of Susan (Joe) Sullivan and Peggy
7(David) Donovan; the dear nephew of the late Marge (and the
8late Richard) Krajeski, the late James (Marie) Kilgallon, Gerry
9(the late Richard) Flanagan, Donald (Kathleen) Kilgallon, and
10Maureen (the late Wayne) Hayes; and wonderful uncle to 6
11nephews and one niece; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Thomas R. Fitzsimons, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Thomas Fitzsimons as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
