SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eugene Holford of Peoria, who passed away on August 9, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Holford was born on January 4, 1936, in Peoria, to Judd E. and Burnette (nee Blue) Holford; he married Caroline Ward on June 11, 1960, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Holford worked at Caterpillar Incorporated for 20 years; he then worked as a maintenance supervisor at Lindenwood Health Care Center; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Holford enjoyed John Wayne movies and spending time with his family and his dog, Mandy; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Holford was preceded in death by his parents; his 4 sisters; and his 3 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Holford is survived by his wife, Caroline; his son, Judd; his brother, Jack (Doris); his sisters, Bernice Orwig and Judy Holford; his caregivers, Chris Johnson, Kitty McCarthy, and Sheryl Ward; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Eugene Holford, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugene Holford as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
