SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alexander "Alex" Nicholas Petropoulos of Waukegan, who passed away on July 26, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Petropoulos' fondest memories were of his family's pioneering promotional events held at the well-known Petropoulos Brothers Appliances, Inc. store in Gurnee, which featured Chicago sports celebrities during the 1960s and 1970s; these events fueled his diehard devotion and unyielding love for the Chicago Blackhawks; and

WHEREAS, Alexander Petropoulos was the beloved father of Lara (Jeremy Criddle) Petropoulos and Jessica Petropoulos; the adoring grandfather of Vance Criddle; the devoted and caring son of Tess and the late Nicholas Petropoulos; the dearest brother to Anthony (Becky) Petropoulos and Sophia (Tony) Petropoulos Grassa; the fond uncle of Sam and Michael Grassa and Nick and Stefanie Petropoulos; and the loving nephew of many aunts and uncles; he is also survived by his many cousins and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Alexander "Alex" Nicholas Petropoulos; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alexander Petropoulos as an expression of our sympathy.
