SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of LeRoy T. "Roy" Paulson of Wadsworth,
4formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on August 2, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, LeRoy Paulson was born on September 2, 1937; his
6parents were LeRoy and Lucille (nee Rink); he lived in Waukegan
7before moving to Wadsworth in 1996 with his wife, Joanne (nee
8Potocky), whom he married on February 24, 1998 at the Church of
9Saint Patrick in Wadsworth; and
 
10    WHEREAS, LeRoy Paulson earned his degree in business
11administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1995; and
 
12    WHEREAS, LeRoy Paulson worked in his family's business, the
13Parkway Restaurant, in Waukegan; he later co-owned and operated
14the Parkway with his brother, Peter, and was part-owner of Club
1518 in Waukegan; and
 
16    WHEREAS, LeRoy Paulson was a sports enthusiast; he was a
17huge Chicago Bears fan and a season ticket holder for many
18years; he paid particular attention to the Notre Dame football
19and basketball teams; he was an avid golfer and a decorative
20gardener; he also enjoyed following the stock market and doing
21jigsaw puzzles; and

1    WHEREAS, LeRoy Paulson was preceded in death by his
2parents; his former wife, Joan Marie (nee Podobnik); his
3brother, Peter Paulson; and his brother-in-law, Paul Ochs; and
 
4    WHEREAS, LeRoy Paulson is survived by his wife, Joanne B.
5Paulson; his former wife, Julie O'Toole; his children, Julie
6(Lem) Bell, Jacqueline Ann Paulson (Felix Naranjo), JoAnn
7Sullivan (nee Paulson), Christine (John) Burke, Sean Justen,
8Regina (Dave) Fabry, Courtney Paulson, and Susan (Rick)
9Schultz; his grandchildren; his sisters, Joan Ochs and Paula
10(Joe) Brennan; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of LeRoy T. "Roy"
15Paulson; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of LeRoy Paulson as an expression of
18our sympathy.
