SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Don L. Uthe of Harvard, who passed away
4on July 19, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Uthe was born on February 5, 1943 in Blue
6Island; his parents were Don L. and Adelaide (Lockhart) Uthe;
7he married Sandra "Sandy" Hamen on May 30, 1964, in Chicago;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Don Uthe owned and operated The Rustic Man, a
10fence company in Harvard, from 1979 until his passing; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Don Uthe was a member of the Harvard Moose Lodge
12and the Harvard Chamber of Commerce; he was a member of the
13Monday Night Golf League for 25 years; he served as president
14of the Harvard Booster Club; he was also recently named an
15honorary Jaycee Senator for the State of Illinois; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Don Uthe enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking,
17smoking fine cigars, attending Green Bay Packers and Iowa
18Hawkeyes games, commiserating with friends, taking golf trips
19to Myrtle Beach, spending time with his family, and attending
20his grandchildren's sporting events; and

1    WHEREAS, Don Uthe was preceded in death by his father; his
2wife, Sandy; his mother-in-law, Pat Hamen; and his stepfather,
3George Piper; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Don Uthe is survived by his mother, Adelaide
5Piper; his children, Robbin (Brian) Diedrich and Craig (Angie)
6Uthe; his grandchildren, Abbey Uthe, Emily Uthe, and Peyton
7Diedrich; his sister, Sally (Ken) Albert; his brother-in-law,
8James (Carolyn) Hamen; his 2 nieces; his 3 nephews; and his
9great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Don L. Uthe; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Don Uthe as an expression of our
16sympathy.
