SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary D. Bennett, Sr. of Waukegan, who passed away on May 29, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bennett, Sr. was born January 10, 1952, in Waukegan, and was a lifelong resident; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bennett, Sr. and his wife were former owners of the Costume Shop on Center Street in Waukegan; he was also employed in the Lake County Supervisor of Assessments Office for 27 years; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bennett, Sr. was a member of St. Anastasia Parish; he was also a former board member of the Waukegan Park District and had coached baseball in Waukegan for many years; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bennett, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Nehemiah and Mildred Bennett; his brother, Charles Bennett; and his brother-in-law, James Kuklai; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bennett, Sr. is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sons, Gary D. (Ruby) Bennett, Jr. and Ryan (Vann) Bennett; his grandchildren, Garrison Bennett, Gavin Bennett, Julia Bennett, Aiden Bennett, Addison Bennett, and Ainsley Bennett; his sisters, Jean (Ralph) Bock and Patricia Kukla; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Gary D. Bennett, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Bennett, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
