SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vallmer Wayman Jordan; and

WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was born on July 4, 1956, in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan received his education from the Chicago Public Schools and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior; he was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he was mentored by Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. during his teenage years; and

WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was a fine and dedicated servant-leader committed to building the capacity of numerous community organizations; he was affiliated with Breaking Ground, the North Lawndale Employment Network, Project X, Saving our Sons Ministries, Bethel New Life, and AG2G; and

WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Vallmer Edward and Ethel B. Jordan; and

WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan is survived by his wife, Vanessa; his son, Vallmer Edward II; his daughters, Joy Valencia and Jacqueline Ruth; and his sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Vallmer Wayman Jordan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and resolution be presented to the family of Vallmer Wayman Jordan as an expression of our sympathy.
