SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Vallmer Wayman Jordan; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was born on July 4, 1956, in
5Chicago; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan received his education from
7the Chicago Public Schools and the University of Illinois at
8Urbana-Champaign; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan accepted Christ as his
10personal Lord and Savior; he was a member of Trinity United
11Church of Christ, where he was mentored by Dr. Jeremiah A.
12Wright, Jr. during his teenage years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was a fine and dedicated
14servant-leader committed to building the capacity of numerous
15community organizations; he was affiliated with Breaking
16Ground, the North Lawndale Employment Network, Project X,
17Saving our Sons Ministries, Bethel New Life, and AG2G; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan was preceded in death by his
19parents, Vallmer Edward and Ethel B. Jordan; and

1    WHEREAS, Vallmer Wayman Jordan is survived by his wife,
2Vanessa; his son, Vallmer Edward II; his daughters, Joy
3Valencia and Jacqueline Ruth; and his sisters, nieces, nephews,
4other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Vallmer Wayman Jordan;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and
10resolution be presented to the family of Vallmer Wayman Jordan
11as an expression of our sympathy.
