SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty McGuire of Venedy, who passed away
4on May 22, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty McGuire was born in Oakville on August 2,
61929, to James and Herta (nee Seiffert) McLaughlin; she was
7united in marriage to Leonard McGuire on July 14, 1951, in East
8Saint Louis; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Betty McGuire was a grain purchaser at the Venedy
10Grain Elevator for 25 years until her retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Betty McGuire was a former member of the St. Peter
12United Church of Christ in Oakville; she loved to play cards
13with her friends and enjoyed going on shopping trips; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Betty McGuire was preceded in death by her
15husband, Leonard; her parents; and her brother, James
16McLaughlin; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Betty McGuire is survived by her son, Tim McGuire;
18her daughters, Julie (Tom) Adkins and Sue (Jim) Weber; her
19brother, Edgar McLaughlin; her grandchildren, Adam (Danielle)
20Rahman, Joe (Sandi) Weber, Zack Adkins, Karin (Eduardo)

1Martinez, Josh Rahman, Elizabeth (Chris) Hurley, and Maureen
2McGuire; her great-grandchildren, Danielle and Braden Weber
3and Ava and Noah Rahman; and other relatives and a host of
4friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Betty McGuire, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Betty McGuire as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
