SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Frederick Herber of Lake Forest, who passed away on May 14, 2013; and

WHEREAS, James Herber was born in Seattle, Washington, on October 8, 1926; he moved with his family to Longmont, Colorado, in 1939; he served in the Army Air Force during World War II with the occupation forces in Germany; he received his degree from the University of Colorado and after graduation served with the Marine Corps in Korea; and

WHEREAS, James Herber started his banking career at his father's Longmont, Colorado, bank; he moved to Lake Forest in 1961 and joined the First National Bank of Lake Forest, which later became Northern Trust Company; he worked there for more than 30 years; and

WHEREAS, James Herber owned a historic cottage in Lake Forest and was proud of it and the flower gardens that surrounded it; and

WHEREAS, James Herber is survived by his wife, Carrol; his sons, Jon (Barbara), Robert (Annette), and William (Robin); his daughter, Kathryn; his 8 grandchildren; and Carrol's children, Amy (Kevin) and Brad; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Herber, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Herber as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
