SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William "Bill" Redden of Wood River, who
4passed away on January 16, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Redden was born on June 8, 1927, to Hugh
6and Thelma (Frazier) Redden; he married Helen Wilkinson on June
711, 1949, who preceded him in death on May 5, 1989; and
 
8    WHEREAS, William Redden worked for Roxana School District
9#1 for 29 years; he was a physical education teacher, math and
10health teacher, and a cross country, track, and basketball
11coach; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Redden married Donna Kemp on November 3,
131990, in Rosewood Heights; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Redden enjoyed golf, woodworking,
15fishing, coin collecting, pinochle, and was an avid Chicago
16Cubs fan; he was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church
17in Rosewood Heights for 55 years, serving as a trustee and on
18numerous committees; he served as a Wood River city councilman
19for 9 years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, William Redden was preceded in death by his

1parents; his first wife; his granddaughter, Kristina; and his
2brothers, Hugh and James; and
 
3    WHEREAS, William Redden is survived by his second wife,
4Donna; his sons, Dave (Barb), Richard, and Darin (Chandra)
5Redden; his daughters, Debby Nicholas, Donna K. (Gary) Murray,
6and Diane (Don) Ford; his grandchildren, Shawn, Bradley,
7Alison, Donny, Kelly, Sandy, Rachel, Stephanie, Zach, Becky Jo,
8Vicky, Donnie, Deanna, Danny, Annie, D.J., Meghan, and Maddie;
9his 16 great-grandchildren; his 2 expectant
10great-grandchildren; his sisters, Marge (Sam) Carter, Jan
11LeFeber, and Betty (Frank) Pasternak; his sisters-in-law,
12Betty and Rosemary Redden; his stepson, David (Annette)
13Dennigmann; his stepdaughter, Dawn (Brian) O'Rourke; his
14nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Wilkinson and Kemp extended
15families; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18William Redden, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of William Redden as an expression of
23our deepest sympathy.
