SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles E. McCarthy of Bethalto, who passed away on May 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy was born on August 16, 1929, in Hettick; his parents were Joseph Thomas and Emma Jane McCarthy; and

WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy served his country in the United States Army as a corporal during the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy was the owner/operator of McCarthy Plumbing and Heating in Bethalto for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy was a member of the Hettick High School class of 1948 and the Cottage Hills VFW Post #7678, where he held several offices; and

WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy is survived by his children and their spouses, Deborah Panapinto and Mike Brooks, Cathy and Robin Mahan, Theresa and David Taylor, and Stephen McCarthy; his grandchildren and their spouses, Dawn and Brian Herrin, Sarah and Brian Sitze, Joshua Taylor, Savanah Riggs, Samantha Taylor, Julieanna McCarthy, and Colynn Mahan; his 8 great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Albert Schwab; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Anna McCarthy, C. Thomas McCarthy, and John and Jan McCarthy; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Charles E. McCarthy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles McCarthy as an expression of our sympathy.
