SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Suzanne Cooke of Naperville, who passed away on March 13, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Cooke joined Naperville High School in 2001, working there as an administrator; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Cooke sponsored the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was active in her church and its youth groups; she had a passion for sports and spent time interning for the Miami Dolphins and spent 3 years as an assistant athletic director at Naperville North High School; she was a Chicago White Sox fan and would traveling around the country attempting to visit all the Major League Baseball ballparks, making it to 21 of them; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Cooke earned her doctorate recently and the Dr. Suzanne Cooke Scholarship Fund was created to be given to a student who leads by example and helps others; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Cooke was known for her sense of humor, her drive, and her big heart; she had a passion for working with teenagers and would help them in any way that she could; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Cooke is survived by her mother Do Cooke; her father, Michael Cooke; her brother, Rick Cooke; and her niece; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Suzanne Cooke, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Suzanne Cooke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
