SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Geraldine C. Germain (nee Coote) of Palos Hills, who passed away on January 30, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain was born on March 7, 1921; she married Charles W. Germain Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain worked as a certified medical assistant; she was a member of the Illinois Society of Medical Assistants, serving them as State treasurer and State president; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain enjoyed birds, flowers, reading, and cooking; she was known to be a good listener who cared for people and was always available for those who had a problem; she often spoke of her family and would ask others about how their families were doing; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain touched the lives of many and always had a smile on her face; acts of kindness, such as a handmade bear, were the hallmark of her personality; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Charles; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain is survived by her daughter, Arlene Kasper; her son-in-law, Edward Kasper; her son, Charles Germain Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Germain; her grandchildren, Rene Germain McFadden, Deanna Rae McFadden (Chris Welch), Michael Charles Germain (Marcia), and Kristin Anne Engberg (Scott); and her great-grandchildren, Samantha Engberg, Charles Michael Germain, Ian Welch, and Ryan Welch; and many nieces and nephew; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Geraldine Germain, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geraldine Germain as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
