SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Geraldine C. Germain (nee Coote) of Palos
4Hills, who passed away on January 30, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain was born on March 7, 1921; she
6married Charles W. Germain Sr.; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain worked as a certified medical
8assistant; she was a member of the Illinois Society of Medical
9Assistants, serving them as State treasurer and State
10president; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain enjoyed birds, flowers,
12reading, and cooking; she was known to be a good listener who
13cared for people and was always available for those who had a
14problem; she often spoke of her family and would ask others
15about how their families were doing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain touched the lives of many and
17always had a smile on her face; acts of kindness, such as a
18handmade bear, were the hallmark of her personality; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain was preceded in death by her
20husband of 72 years, Charles; and

1    WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain is survived by her daughter,
2Arlene Kasper; her son-in-law, Edward Kasper; her son, Charles
3Germain Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Germain; her
4grandchildren, Rene Germain McFadden, Deanna Rae McFadden
5(Chris Welch), Michael Charles Germain (Marcia), and Kristin
6Anne Engberg (Scott); and her great-grandchildren, Samantha
7Engberg, Charles Michael Germain, Ian Welch, and Ryan Welch;
8and many nieces and nephew; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Geraldine Germain, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Geraldine Germain as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
