SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Shirley A. Behymer of Versailles, who
4passed away on February 20, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Shirley Behymer was born on November 16, 1938, in
6Elkhorn Township in Brown County to Jesse Sr. and Elva Mae
7Carpenter Smith; she attended rural Brown County schools and
8then attended Brown County High School; she married Richard G.
9Behymer on December 18, 1955, in Mount Sterling; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Shirley Behymer was a homemaker and assisted her
11husband as a bookkeeper for B & B Welding and Repair in
12Augusta; she also worked for the ammunition plant in
13Burlington, Iowa, and was a school bus driver for several
14years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Shirley Behymer enjoyed quilting, sewing,
16listening to music, hunting for mushrooms, and raising flowers;
17her greatest joy was spending time with her family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Shirley Behymer was preceded in death by her
19husband; her parents; her brothers, Lyle, Ray, Jesse Jr., Glen,
20and Oliver Smith; and her sister, Mary Parker; and

1    WHEREAS, Shirley Behymer is survived by her sons, Kevin
2Behymer and Jeff Behymer (Nancy); his brother, Tony Smith
3(Judy); his sisters, Norma Smith and Ruth Nolan; her
4grandchildren, Greg Behymer (Jessica), Amy Wagy (Eric),
5Stephanie Syrcle, Katie Dunbar (Cory), and Alison and Jeni
6Behymer; her 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
7nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Shirley Behymer, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Shirley Behymer as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
