SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3mourn the death of Ronald "Ron" Dean Marx, who passed away on
4November 23, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer with
5his family by his side; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx was born on July 6, 1959 in Morris;
7his parents were Robert Marx and Ellen Marx; he was raised in
8Morris, graduating with the Class of 1977 from Morris High
9School, and was married to Barb (nee Neal) Siegel; on December
1016, 2006, he married Tina Darm; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx served in law enforcement as a
12patrolman in Morris for 5 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx started his career in 1991 as a
14firefighter and paramedic with the Naperville Fire Department,
15where he served for over 20 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Through his service with the Naperville Fire
17Department, Ronald Marx was dedicated to working with the
18community to strengthen relations, serving on many teams and
19committees; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx worked on the Naperville Fire

1Department's accreditation process and transition into the
2Edward Hospital Emergency Medical System; he was also part of
3the Naperville Fire Department Fire Investigation Team; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx was known for his work with the
5Naperville Fire Department Public Education Team, where his
6luminous personality was a perfect fit for interacting with the
7public; those who knew him best characterized him as a true
8leader and great mentor to many new firefighters and
9paramedics; and
 
10    WHEREAS, On June 15, 2006, Ronald Marx became a member of
11the Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District; he was
12promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in January of 2012; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx was a dedicated leader who worked in
14the development of training programs and officer development
15within the fire department; he rode in the fire engine until
16the day he was diagnosed; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx enjoyed traveling, camping, and the
18outdoors, but his greatest love was fire service and his 4
19grandchildren; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx was preceded in death by his father;
21and

1    WHEREAS, Ronald Marx is survived by his wife, Tina; his
2mother; 2 children, Nicole (Dave) Barr and Brad Chapman; 4
3grandchildren, Kiersten, Travis, Aubree, and Olivia Barr; 6
4siblings, Robert (Kim), Karen (Gary) Marshall, John (Deb),
5Jerry (Patti), Darrell (Lyn), and Dennis; and many nieces and
6nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Ronald "Ron" Dean
10Marx; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ronald Marx as an expression of our
13sympathy.
