SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Timothy D. Flynn of Bloomington, who
4passed away on October 26, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Timothy Flynn was born in Bloomington on November
617, 1954 to John A. and Margaret A. (nee Delmar) Flynn; he
7graduated from Central Catholic High School in Bloomington in
81972; he attended Parkland College in Champaign and graduated
9from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in St. Joseph,
10Missouri in 1977; he married Mary Jo Dougherty on August 9,
111980 in Washington; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After graduating, Timothy Flynn joined his father
13in the funeral business; he purchased the business from his
14father in 1987; he was a member of the McLean County Funeral
15Directors Association, the Illinois Funeral Directors
16Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Timothy Flynn was a lifelong member of Holy
19Trinity Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus
20Council #574 Fr. John D. Ring, where he was a 4th Degree
21Knight; he enjoyed classic cars, the St. Louis Cardinals,
22boating, his weekly golf game, and, most of all, his

1grandchildren; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Timothy Flynn was preceded in death by his
3parents; 2 brothers, Patrick and James Flynn; and his sister,
4Anne Dunn; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Timothy Flynn is survived by his wife, Mary Jo;
6his 5 children, David (Megan) Flynn, Katherine (Greg) Mertens,
7Michael Flynn, Erin Flynn, and James Flynn; 3 grandchildren,
8Caroline, Emily, and Jack; 3 brothers, Michael (Jerrilyn)
9Flynn, George (Irene) Flynn, and Thomas Flynn; 2 sisters,
10Margaret "Peggy" Flynn and Kathleen "Curly" Flynn; his
11brother-in-law, David Dunn; and many nieces and nephews;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Timothy D. Flynn, and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Timothy Flynn as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
