SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey D. Reeves of Bloomington, who passed away on April 23, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves was born on November 21, 1951 in Anna; his parents were Richard Thomas and Eulita Penrod Reeves; he married Patricia Fern Beanland on March 26, 1970 in West Frankfort; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1971 and was an avid Saluki fan; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves worked for 40 years at the Corn Belt Energy Corporation, having served as president and chief executive officer of the company for 33 years; he served as chairman of the Soyland Power Cooperative (now Prairie Power Inc.) and as vice president of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce Board; he also served as a board member of United Utility Supply Cooperative and served on many other boards and advisory committees; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves enjoyed playing golf, fishing, snow skiing, and traveling with his family; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves was preceded in death by his parents and a brother; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Melissa Reeves, and a brother, Timothy (Carol) Reeves; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Jeffrey D. Reeves; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Reeves as an expression of our sympathy.
