SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Virginia Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor, who passed away on July 4, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vidakovic was born on June 6, 1929 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vidakovic graduated from Waukegan High School at the top of her class; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vidakovic was a member of Slovene National Benefit Society Lodge 584; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vidakovic enjoyed spending time with her family at home and watching old movies and the Mollie B Polka Show; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vidakovic was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Vidakovic; 2 sons, Joseph J. Vidakovic, Jr. and William Vidakovic; 3 siblings, Mary (the late Iggy) Znidersic, Judith (the late Dr. Steve) Sipos, and Eddie Nagode; and her parents, Frank and Mary Nagode; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vidakovic is survived by 7 children, Nancy (fiance Dr. Jack Chulengarian) Stanley, Pattie (Dave Acred) Beck, Karen (Art) Gesky, Nick Vidakovic, David Vidakovic, Thomas (Martha Bernal) Vidakovic, and Robert Vidakovic; 7 grandchildren, Adam, Joseph, Jenna, Justin, Tammi, Michael, and Cody; 4 great-grandchildren, Alijah, Myles, Katie, and Emily; a sister, Edie (Ron) Kantola; and her beloved dog, Daisy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Virginia Vidakovic; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Virginia Vidakovic as an expression of our sympathy.
