SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul Eugene Reid, formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on September 25, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Paul Reid was born on January 5, 1917 in Batestown and grew up in Danville; he served in the United States Navy for 31 years; he served during World War II on the USS Yorktown; and

WHEREAS, Paul Reid was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons; and

WHEREAS, Paul Reid was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Lucille (nee Molter); his father, Forrest O. Reid; his mother, Minerva Jean Reid; and his sister, Doris; and

WHEREAS, Paul Reid is survived by his 2 daughters, Linda (Carl) Nichols and Dianne (Roger) Stolarik, and his 3 grandchildren, Erin Dunkel, Kristine (Dave) Ryan, and Jason Stolarik; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul Eugene Reid, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Reid as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
