SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Andrew Gardner, Jr. of Buffalo
4Grove; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. was a member of the American
6Legion Merle Guild Post 208 in Arlington Heights and the First
7United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights; he was a member
8of Pipefitters Local Union 597 and an active volunteer at
9Maryville Academy; he also founded 16-inch softball leagues in
10the Northwest suburbs, including the Arlington Greens; and
 
11    WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. served his country as a
12member of the United States Army's 88th Infantry Division
13during the occupation of Europe following World War II; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. was preceded in death by 2
15sisters; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. was the beloved husband of
17the late Marilyn Gardner; the loving father of Dianne (James)
18Renn, John (Gayle) Gardner, Thomas Gardner, and the late Dale
19(Eileen) Gardner; the devoted grandfather of Meghan (Clifford)
20Snatchko, Meredith Gletty, William Andrew Gardner, III, Lauren
21Gletty, and Cash Gardner; and the great-grandfather of John

1Ross Snatchko; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
4family and friends, mourn the passing of William Andrew
5Gardner, Jr.; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of William Gardner, Jr. as an
8expression of our sympathy.
