SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Isabelle Rose Martin, who passed away on
4May 26, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin was born on September 2, 1920 in
6Kankakee; her parents were Edward and Victorine (nee Pommier)
7Francoeur; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Isabelle married Francis Martin on Memorial Day in
91942, just before Francis was deployed to the Pacific front in
10World War II; upon his return, Isabelle and Francis started
11their family together, eventually moving out to the country and
12having 9 children; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin enjoyed dancing with her lifelong
14partner Francis, reading novels, shopping, and tending to her
15flower and vegetable gardens; she also was a devout member of
16the Catholic Church; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin spent her entire adult life caring
18for her family; she was always proud of their accomplishments
19and lives, and she treasured the time she spent visiting with
20them; and

1    WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin was preceded in death by her
2husband, Francis; her parents; a son, John Martin; and a
3grandson, Nathan Barber; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin is survived by 8 children, Mary
5Martin, Terry (Ilga) Martin, Michael (Wendy) Martin, Patricia
6Martin, Thomas (Sharon) Martin, Susan Simeur, Gloria (Robert)
7Romero, and Willie Martin; a special niece, Kay (Ralph) Norton;
8a sister, Blanche Sebastiani; a brother, Ivan Francoeur; 19
9grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Isabelle Rose Martin and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Isabelle Martin as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
