SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Albert J. Tognarelli of Collinsville, who
4passed away on November 5, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was born on May 30, 1926 in
6Collinsville; his parents were Italo and Leda (nee Bastioni)
7Tognarelli; he married Rosalie Brogliatto on January 10, 1948;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli served his country as a member
10of the United States Army's 11th Airborne Division in the South
11Pacific theatre; he received numerous awards and commendations
12for his service to his country; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was the owner and operator of
14the Shell, Mobil, and Phillips 66 service stations in
15Collinsville for over 40 years; he also served as the
16Collinsville Township Clerk and ran the Collinsville Senior
17Citizens Center for over 20 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, After retiring at the age of 77, Albert Tognarelli
19and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively, their favorite
20times being the cruises they shared together; and

1    WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was a member of many
2organizations in Collinsville, including the Knights of
3Columbus, the American Legion, and the Collinsville Veterans of
4Foreign Wars Post 5691; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was preceded in death by his
6parents and a son-in-law, Sam LaFrank; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli is survived by his wife,
8Rosalie; a son, Richard (Gail) Tognarelli; a daughter, Annette
9LaFrank; a sister, Lola Wrigley; a brother, Leo "Pete"
10Tognarelli; 4 grandchildren, Amy LaFrank, Lisa (Christopher)
11Bossetto, Michael Tognarelli, and Matthew Tognarelli; 2
12great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sydnee; and many nieces,
13nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Albert J. Tognarelli;
17and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Albert Tognarelli as an expression
20of our sympathy.
