SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Willie Woods, who passed away on December 12, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Willie Woods was born July 31, 1946 in Belzoni, Mississippi; his parents were K.C. and Rosianna Woods; he and his family moved to North Chicago in 1953; during high school, he was very active in sports, including wrestling and football; and

WHEREAS, Willie Woods retired from the V.A. Hospital in North Chicago after many years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Willie Woods was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Melvin, Calvin, and George Woods; and his sisters, Hazel and Lorene Woods; and

WHEREAS, Willie Woods is survived by his son, James Lee Woods; his granddaughters, Elizabeth and Angela; his sisters, Doris Green, Irma Jean Montgomery, Sarah Woods, and Dolly (Henry) White; his brother, Charles (Fay) Woods; his devoted and loving niece, Shirley Green-Worklan; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Willie Woods; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Willie Woods as an expression of our sympathy.
