SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Lorraine Boehmer of Woodstock, who
4passed away on September 30, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was born in Mobile, Alabama on August
61, 1928 to Joseph Ross and Claudine (nee Joseph) Ollis; she
7married Arthur William Boehmer in February of 1953 and their
8life in the United States Navy, followed by United Airlines,
9was pivotal to her love of seeing new destinations; and
 
10    WHEREAS, While living in Palatine, Mary Boehmer was very
11active in Travelers Aid Chicago at Chicago's O'Hare
12International Airport; she traveled to many worldwide
13destinations, such as Russia, Egypt, and Ireland; she took 38
14cruises to many regions of the world, with Paris being her
15fondest destination; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was active in local organizations
17such as The Bull Valley Garden Club, the Woodstock Fine Arts
18Association, the Investment Club, as well as many others; she
19had a wonderful gift of entertaining, even though she had a
20strong aversion to cooking and with her Southern charm and
21graciousness, she was always the life of the party and
22conversation; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was preceded in death by her parents;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer is survived by her husband of 62
4years, Arthur; 3 children, William Ross (Susan) Boehmer, Tracy
5(Ron) Kieras, and Stephanie (Thomas) Paulsen; and 5
6grandchildren, Erik, Michael, Kelly, Lindsay, and Rob;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Mary Lorraine Boehmer, and extend our sincere condolences to
11her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Mary Boehmer as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
