SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Loran B. Gebhards of Springfield, who passed away on October 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Loran Gebhards was born on January 14, 1922 in Petersburg; his parents were Schwer Ben and Minnie Goetting Gebhards; he married Rose Mary Lott on June 19, 1954 in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Loran Gebhards was a lifelong resident of Sangamon and Menard Counties; he was a lifelong farmer; and

WHEREAS, Loran Gebhards was a former Trustee of the Curran-Gardner Township Board of Trustees and a member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for 12 years; and

WHEREAS, Loran Gebhards was an avid gardener; he also enjoyed attending family functions; and

WHEREAS, Loran Gebhards was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary; and his brother, Harry A. Gebhards; and

WHEREAS, Loran Gebhards is survived by 2 sons, Mark (Beth) Gebhards and Paul Gebhards, and 4 grandchildren, Shane Gebhards, Grant Gebhards, Logan Gebhards, and Molly Gebhards; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Loran B. Gebhards; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Loran Gebhards as an expression of our sympathy.
