SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Lee Walker Jr., who passed away on
4March 1, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Walker Jr. was born on June 13, 1938, in
6Evarts, Kentucky, to James Lee Walker Sr. and Martha Lee
7(Pinkard) Walker; he attended Closplint Elementary School in
8Closplint, Kentucky, and Rosenwald High School in Harlan,
9Kentucky; and
 
10    WHEREAS, James Walker Jr. worked at Johns Manville for over
1110 years; he opened his own business in Waukegan, Walker's Auto
12Repair, and ran it for over 40 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James Walker Jr. owned and raced a car famously
14known as the "Lively Ford"; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James Walker Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents; his brothers, H.L., John, and Howard; his sister,
17Francene; and his niece, Theresa; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Walker Jr. is survived by his daughters,
19Tina and Tracy; his sons, James III and Dejon; his
20granddaughter, Jasmine; his sisters, Loretta Pleas, Irene

1Elliot, Brenda Knox, Joyce Walker, and Merna (Tony) Franklin;
2his brother, Dairry (Lynn) Walker; his many nieces; his
3nephews, Gil Santiago, Rodney, Pontiac Bob, and a host of other
4relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7James Walker Jr., and we extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of James Walker Jr. as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
