SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ruth Elizabeth Roach of McHenry, who passed away on September 29, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Roach was born in Chicago on February 29, 1924 to Chester and Marie (nee Watts) Clow; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Roach began her career in Chicago working for Commonwealth Edison; after moving to McHenry, she was employed as a chemical analyst by Morton Chemical in Woodstock; she continued with the company as it transitioned to Morton-Thiokol, Inc. and then to the Rohm and Haas Company; later, she worked in food service at Montini Catholic School in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Roach was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in McHenry, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered in the soup kitchen; she also volunteered with 1st Way Pregnancy Support Services and the Friends in Service Here Food Pantry; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Roach was preceded in death by her husband, James Roach; a granddaughter, Kyrstin Roach; a sister, Catherine; and a brother, John; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Roach is survived by a son, Raymond Roach and a granddaughter, Jennifer Baxley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ruth Elizabeth Roach, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ruth Roach as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
