SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Earl E. Smith of McHenry, who passed away
4on September 14 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Smith was born in Effingham on May 2, 1938 to
6Oscar Earl and Allene (nee Engle) Smith; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Prior to retirement 7 years ago, Earl Smith was
8employed as a tool & die maker at Regency Die & Mold Company of
9Ingleside; after retirement, he was employed for nearly 4 years
10on a part-time basis at Meijer in McHenry, where he worked in
11the Garden Department; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Since living in McHenry, Earl Smith was a resident
13for the entire time in the West Shore Beach subdivision, where
14he was instrumental in improving and bringing his neighborhood
15together; he was active with the West Shore Beach Property
16Owners Association, serving on the Board of Directors as well
17as holding the office of President and Vice-President for
18several years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Earl Smith was an avid fisherman throughout his
20lifetime, and enjoyed boating when he was younger; he was a
21proud grandfather and loved to spend time with his family; he

1was always willing to help people, and made many friends over
2the years; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Earl Smith was preceded in death by his parents
4and his wife, Deborah C. Smith; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Smith is survived by his daughter, Tiffany
6(Francis) Fisher; a son, Christopher Stone; 2 grandchildren,
7Dominick Fisher and George Fisher; 3 brothers, Fredrick (Marnie
8Rawson) Smith, George (Joyce) Smith, and Stephen Smith; a
9sister, Marion (Bobby) Hitt; and several nieces and nephews;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Earl E. Smith, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Earl Smith as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
