SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sidney M. Edinger, who passed away on
4September 16, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sidney Edinger was born on July 24, 1929 in
6Woodstock; he was a resident of Woodstock since 1995; his
7parents were Lester "Doc" and Marian Edinger; he married Devona
8Frisbie; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sidney Edinger was a 1947 graduate of Woodstock
10Community High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts
11degree from Carleton College in 1951; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After graduation, Sidney Edinger entered the
13Naval Officer's Training School and subsequently served in the
14United States Navy aboard a destroyer during the Korean War; he
15retired from the Naval Reserves after serving for 20 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Sidney Edinger joined Kimberly Clark Corporation
17in 1953; he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and
18Logistics at the time of his retirement in 1988; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Sidney Edinger was active in the United Methodist
20Church and the Rotary Club; he also volunteered at the

1Challenger Learning Center; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Sidney Edinger was preceded in death by his
3parents and a sister, Mary K. Wallace; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Sidney Edinger is survived by his wife, Devona; 2
5children, Amy (James) Roddey and Maer (Paul) Seibert; 3
6stepchildren, Hugh (Marlene) Frisbie, Ellen (Luke) Lohmeyer,
7and Kent (Diana) Frisbie; 2 brothers, Richard (Merlyn) Edinger
8and Les (Liz) Edinger; 11 grandchildren; 2 nephews; and a
9niece; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Sidney M. Edinger; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Sidney Edinger as an expression of
16our sympathy.
