SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty R. Farley, who passed away on
4September 15, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Farley was born on July 20, 1919 in Alton;
6her parents were Fred A. and Sadie (nee Poore) Redmond; she
7married N. Rogers Farley, Jr. on December 27, 1939 in Alton;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Betty Farley was the oldest living graduate of
10Marquette High School; she was also a member of the Upper Alton
11Woman's Club for over 50 years, a member of the Illinois State
12Chapter of P.E.O., and an avid bridge player; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Betty Farley was employed in the jewelry
14department at Famous Barr for 10 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Betty Farley was preceded in death by her husband;
16a son, N. Rogers Farley, III; a brother, Jack Redmond; and a
17sister-in-law, Sylvia Thomas; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Betty Farley is survived by 4 daughters, Mary
19(Tom) Hoechst, Sarah Woodman, Georgia Farley, and Chris
20(Dennis) Jones; 9 grandchildren, Beth Hoechst, Christopher

5Farley; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Betty R. Farley; and
9be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Betty Farley as an expression of our
12sympathy.
