SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph "Ski" Youngman (Mlodozynic), who passed away on August 23, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Youngman was born on September 22, 1924 in Duluth, Minnesota; his parents were Josephine and Joseph Mlodozynic; he later moved to the Waukegan area due to his military duties at Great Lakes Naval Station; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Youngman served his country on active duty in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer; he went on to serve for 10 more years in the Naval Fleet Reserve; and

WHEREAS, After retiring from the military, Joseph Youngman worked at F.W. Means Clean Towel Service for 24 years and as a driver and trainer with First Student Transportation for 20 years; he served on the Park City Zoning Board for 8 years and served as Lake County Election Judge for 15 years; he was also a member of the Tiny Social Club for several decades; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Youngman enjoyed playing bridge with his friends at Park Place Senior Center; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Youngman was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and a stepson, David Camelli; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Youngman is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; 2 children, Diana Duff and Richard (Connie) Youngman; 2 stepchildren, Karen (Mel) Dahl and Edward (Peg) Moeller; 11 grandchildren, Mellisa (Randy) Seely, Vincent (Amber) Camelli, Brian Duff, Kevin Duff, Jeremy Bentivegna, Stephanie Youngman, Christie (Billy) Franks, Debbie (Jessie) Balay, Laurie (Len) Wojciechowicz, Rita Conti, Lynn (Ron) Rich; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; 3 sisters, Emmaline Brock, Joanne Mlodozynic, and Lucille Hoppe; and a brother, Robert Mlodozynic; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph "Ski" Youngman (Mlodozynic); and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Youngman as an expression of our sympathy.
