SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John F. Pretto of Vernon Hills, who passed away on August 19, 2014; and

WHEREAS, John Pretto was born on July 29, 1926 in Crystal Falls, Michigan; and

WHEREAS, John Pretto served as a member of the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific theatre during World War II; and

WHEREAS, John Pretto was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and a member of the Local 56 Bricklayers Union; and

WHEREAS, John Pretto is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna (nee Doran); 3 children, John Pretto, Michael "Mikey" (Jennifer) Pretto, and Anji (William) Sims; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer; 5 grandchildren, Alexa, Ava, Anthony, Donald John "DJ", and Isabella "Bella", a sister, Carmen Nardi; and a brother, Donald Broskowitz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of John F. Pretto; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Pretto as an expression of our sympathy.
