SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Albert Helmkamp of Beach Park, who passed away on August 17, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Helmkamp was born on March 25, 1952 to Al and Shirley (nee Mjelde) Helmkamp; he graduated from Waukegan High School in 1970 and married Amy Blair on June 12, 1976; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Helmkamp owned and operated Helmkamp Overhead Door, THE Carwash, and the Wash and Roll Car Wash in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Helmkamp and his wife enjoyed playing with their grandchildren and visiting with family and friends by the pool; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Helmkamp was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beth Helmkamp Cody; niece, Rachel Lynn Ochoa; and nephew, Scott Cody; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Helmkamp is survived by his wife of 38 years, Amy Helmkamp; their 2 children, Thomas (Heidi) Helmkamp and Heather (Mike) Noyer; grandchildren, Kamryn and Kaileigh Helmkamp and Hunter and Dustin Noyer; sisters, Debra (Bob) Plantz and Sandra Futch; brother, Daniel Helmkamp; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Jordan) Strickland, Brett (Stephanie) Cody, and Ryan Futch; and many other loved ones; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas Albert Helmkamp, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Helmkamp as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
