SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Chester S. Blackowicz of Waukegan, who passed away on August 1, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Chester Blackowicz was born on January 30, 1925 in North Chicago and was a lifelong resident of the area; and

WHEREAS, Chester Blackowicz served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Chester Blackowicz was a member of St. Anastasia Parish and the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281; and

WHEREAS, Chester Blackowicz was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Vazquez; a son, Stanley Blackowicz; his parents, Stanley and Mary Blackowicz; and his brothers and sisters; and

WHEREAS, Chester Blackowicz is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dora (nee Dapkus) Blackowicz; 3 sons, Charles Blackowicz, Steven (Mary Ann) Blackowicz, and Joseph Blackowicz; 7 grandchildren, Steven, Kyle, Kevin, Jennifer, Michelle, Mark, and Matthew; a sister-in-law, Jean Blackowicz; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Chester S. Blackowicz; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Chester Blackowicz as an expression of our sympathy.
