SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Walter "Budd" Jacob of Dunlap, who passed
4away on August 8, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Walter Jacob was born in 1934 in Chicago; his
6parents were Walter F. and Phyllis (nee Black) Jacob; he
7married Margaret G. Barry on September 14, 1963; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Walter Jacob began his career in 1952 at
9Anheuser-Busch in Chicago; he worked his way up to district
10manager before leaving the company in 1968 to buy Brewers
11Distributing Company in Peoria; in 1974, he bought out his
12partner to become the sole owner; he served as president and
13CEO of Brewers Distributing Company until 1998; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Walter Jacob was always conscious of the needs of
15the Peoria area community and helped to fund and support many
16programs over the years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Walter Jacob was an avid sports fan including the
18Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Bears; he was an
19excellent artist and enjoyed sketching and painting,
20especially at the beach; and

1    WHEREAS, Walter Jacob was preceded in death by his parents;
2a son, Walter F. Jacob; and a brother, John Black; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Walter Jacob is survived by his wife, Margaret
4(nee Barry) Jacob; 3 children, George (Jeannine) Jacob,
5Margaret "Meg" Jacob, and Paul (Amanda) Jacob; and 10
6grandchildren, Alexandra, Daniel, Jacob, George, Walter
7"Jake", Katherine, Kayla, Connor, Thomas, and Bennett;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Walter "Budd" Jacob;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Walter Jacob as an expression of our
15sympathy.
