SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gerald "Jerry" Goode of Gurnee, who passed away on June 16, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Goode was born on March 30, 1929 in Waukegan; his parents were Walter and Mary (nee Hoff) Goode; he married the love of his life, Mary Kristan, on August 19, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Goode served his country as a member of the United States Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Goode was an usher at St. Patrick Church in Wadsworth for over 45 years; he was also a member of the Moose Lodge; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Goode was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter (Sonny) Goode and Bruce Goode, and a sister, Agnes "Elaine" (nee Goode) Greene; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Goode is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary; 5 children, Mary Lynn (Chuck) Walters, Tim (Sue) Goode, Jerry Goode, JoAnn Smoker, and Dr. Mark Goode; 13 grandchildren, Robert (Melissa) Walters, Mark Walters, Matt Goode, Kayla Goode, Breanna Goode, Jenna Goode, Brian Goode, Collin Goode, Emily Smoker, Beth Smoker, Grant Goode, Julia Goode, and Catherine Goode; 2 great-granddaughters, Moriah and Lila Walters; and his respected friend, Bill Hielscher; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald "Jerry" Goode; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gerald Goode as an expression of our sympathy.
