SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frances J. "Fran" Sliva of Marengo, who passed away on June 17, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Frances Sliva was born on March 7, 1939 in Chicago; she married Lou Sliva on November 11, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Frances Sliva worked as a bookkeeper for JT Screw Machine in Melrose Park for 30 years until her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Frances Sliva was an avid golfer; she also loved movies, dancing, and laughing with her kids; and

WHEREAS, Frances Sliva is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred; an aunt, Elsie; and a sister, Norma; and

WHEREAS, Frances Sliva is survived by her husband, Lou; 4 children, Edward (Bobbie) Palakie, Ronald (Annie) Palakie, William (Karen) Palakie, and Cathy (Edward) Johns; 10 grandchildren, Eddie, Christopher, Tommy, David, Kristen, Samantha, Rhiannon, Jordon, Meghan, and Erik; 3 great-grandchildren, Angelica, Sakura, and Amalina; and a sister, Florence (Richard) Duncan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Frances J. "Fran" Sliva; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frances Sliva as an expression of our sympathy.
