SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond J. Wojciechowski of Johnsburg, who passed away on May 2, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Wojciechowski was born in Chicago on May 6, 1927 to Walter J. and Josephine Wojciechowski; he served in the United States Army and Air Force, serving during World War II and the Korean War; he married Margaret R. Melka on April 24, 1954; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Wojciechowski enjoyed traveling, gambling, garage sales, poker, gardening, and especially, spending time with his grandchildren; he was a member of the McHenry Moose Lodge 691 and the Knights of Columbus Council 9167 of Johnsburg and was active with the Boy Scouts; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Wojciechowski was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steve and Theodore "Ted"; and sisters, Betty, Bernice, and Elaine; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Wojciechowski is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; 5 children, Diane (Bill) Stark, Regina (Rick) Budinger, Paul (Laura) Wojciechowski, Mark (Carol) Wojciechowski, and Janet (Keith) Bundgard; grandchildren, Melissa, Tim, Erik, Stephanie, Kyle, Max, Bridget, Chloe, and Raymond; and great-grandchildren, Trevor, Madison, and Dylan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond J. Wojciechowski, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Wojciechowski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
