SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Bernice Triggs of Morton, formerly of East Peoria, who passed away on February 18, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Mary Triggs was born on November 7, 1915, in Tiskilwa; her parents were Lowry and Jennie Colvin Giltner; she married DeLoss R. "Bud" Triggs on August 14, 1937; and

WHEREAS, Mary Triggs was employed by Block & Kuhl and Carson Pirie Scott & Co. and retired in 1978; and

WHEREAS, Mary Triggs served as president of the Central School Mothers Club in East Peoria and president of the East Peoria Home Extension; she was also a past Worthy Matron of Clover Leaf Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; and

WHEREAS, Mary Triggs was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sons; 2 stepsons; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Mary Triggs is survived by her daughter, Kay Johnson; her son, Dennis (Judy) Triggs; her brother, Wilbur (Doris) Giltner; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary Bernice Triggs; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Triggs as an expression of our sympathy.
