SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Audrey Marie Herberger (nee O'Hare) of
4Waukegan, who passed away on December 22, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was born on August 10, 1938, in
6Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1956; she
7married Jack Herberger on July 14, 1956, at St. Mark's Lutheran
8Church in Waukegan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger worked as the executive
10secretary to the Lake County Board for 16 years; she was
11chairman of the Selective Service Board since 1998; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was a longtime member of St.
13Mark's, where she served on the Finance Committee, Budget
14Committee, Offering Counting Committee, Altar Guild, St.
15Mark's Senior Ladies Committee, Mailing Committee, the Pasty
16Team, and an usher; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was an avid bowler for over 40
18years and was inducted into the Waukegan Women's Bowling
19Association Hall of Fame in 1993; in 1993, she won the WWBA
20Singles Championship and in 2007 she won an award for bowling
21in 30 National Tournaments; she loved being around her children

1and grandchildren and enjoyed sewing, playing Bingo, and
2spending time at the casinos playing video poker; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was preceded in death by her
4parents, Harvey James and Tyyne Marie O'Hare; her brother,
5Donald O'Hare; her sister, Lorraine Worth; and 6 uncles and 6
6aunts; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger is survived by her husband of 56
8years, Jack; her children, Steven (Debra) Herberger, Terrance
9(Louise) Herberger; and Jodi (Donald) Reese; her
10grandchildren, Daniel (Erica) Reese, Cory Reese, Thorin G.
11Herberger, Elaine Herberger, and Terra and Margaret Herberger;
12and her great-grandchild, Bentley Reese; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Audrey Herberger, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Audrey Herberger as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
