SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Audrey Marie Herberger (nee O'Hare) of Waukegan, who passed away on December 22, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was born on August 10, 1938, in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1956; she married Jack Herberger on July 14, 1956, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger worked as the executive secretary to the Lake County Board for 16 years; she was chairman of the Selective Service Board since 1998; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was a longtime member of St. Mark's, where she served on the Finance Committee, Budget Committee, Offering Counting Committee, Altar Guild, St. Mark's Senior Ladies Committee, Mailing Committee, the Pasty Team, and an usher; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was an avid bowler for over 40 years and was inducted into the Waukegan Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1993; in 1993, she won the WWBA Singles Championship and in 2007 she won an award for bowling in 30 National Tournaments; she loved being around her children and grandchildren and enjoyed sewing, playing Bingo, and spending time at the casinos playing video poker; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey James and Tyyne Marie O'Hare; her brother, Donald O'Hare; her sister, Lorraine Worth; and 6 uncles and 6 aunts; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Herberger is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack; her children, Steven (Debra) Herberger, Terrance (Louise) Herberger; and Jodi (Donald) Reese; her grandchildren, Daniel (Erica) Reese, Cory Reese, Thorin G. Herberger, Elaine Herberger, and Terra and Margaret Herberger; and her great-grandchild, Bentley Reese; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Audrey Herberger, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Audrey Herberger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
