SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Austra Treknais of Lakewood, who passed away on April 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Austra Treknais was born on March 29, 1909 in Latvia; her parents were Janis and Minna (nee Ivans) Birzins; she married Volderars Treknais; and

WHEREAS, Austra Treknais is survived by 2 daughters, Ruta Treknais and Dace (Arthur) Kulans; her grandchildren, Laura (Blake) Coblentz, Andra Kulans, and Arthur (Kendra) Kulans; and her great-grandchildren, William, Jacob, Aleksander, Karter, and Maks; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Austra Treknais; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Austra Treknais as an expression of our sympathy.
